My name is Ingrid, but feel free to call me Inga- that’s how I sign my paintings.

My Story

I grew up in Berlin, Germany with my parents and four siblings. My love of art comes from our dad, who was a painter and wood carver (in addition to his work with the US Army). He taught me to paint with oils at a young age. I love the smell- it carries me back to those times with my dad. In college, there was no choice for me other than major in art. My mom, however, told me I couldn’t major in art alone; I needed some specialization, so I graduated with a degree in art and a teaching certificate.

My Family

My family is my heart. I have the most wonderful people in my life, starting with my family. I have been married for 38 years to Nolan, my best friend and husband. We met and married in under a year, had two beautiful daughters who are grown with (2) children of their own. I am blessed to be a grandmother of four! Oh how I adore being with those sweet people! I am also gifted with loving supportive siblings, nieces and nephews and in-laws

My Passions

Art-I assume it is obvious that I am passionate about art. I have always been drawn (pun intended) to the arts and have taught art at every grade level. I also love all things yoga, exploring nature, traveling, spiritual pursuits, reading, spending time with friends and family.

Currently…

Entering this new chapter of retirement is so exciting for me - I am giddy with excitement. Starting a new business as a creative feels like a calling. Having the gift of making art and exploring new horizons such as digital art, surface pattern design, book illustration in addition to painting  is both overwhelming and exhilarating.
